抄録

Subharmonic phased array for crack evaluation (SPACE) with large amplitude ultrasonic transmitters has a unique capability of the crack depth measurement. In this work, we propose a simple model for SPACE where the object including the input crack face is an elastic body which can support both incident and reflected waves, whereas that including the output crack face is an oscillator with a mass and a spring which naturally provides the resonance characteristics essential for the subharmonics.
