N2 - A system for automatic definition of region of interest (ROI) in intravascular ultrasound images is proposed. This system performs this task in two phases: first a preprocessing based on morphological smoothing and fuzzy enhancement is done and then a fuzzy clustering algorithm is applied to the pre-processed image. The preliminary results showed that this technique is a feasible method for finding calcified regions that can be explored by clas-sifiers.
