N2 - An efficient synthesis of [fluoroacetyl‐18F]fluoromelatonin (Nω‐[18F]Fluoroacetyl‐5‐methoxytryptamine) starting from [18F]fluoride and ethyl p‐toluensulfonyloxyacetate is described. The total time required for its synthesis is ca. 90 min. The radiochemical yield, purity and specific activity (end of bombardment) of the desired compound are 14.2%,>98%, and 540 mCi/μmol, respectively.
