A 60-year-old man with non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) was introduced and hospitalized because of the getting worse of liver dysfunction, pancytopenia, splenomegaly and esophagogastric varices. We performed splenectomy and proximal gastric devascularization (Hassab’s operation) for this patient. Postoperative course was good, he was discharged from hospital at 23 days after operation. Pancytopenia improved immediately. Child-Pugh score was changed from 8 point to 6 point, and esophagogastric varices was improved from F3RC (+) to F1RC (−) 6 months after operation. Though 4 years have been passed after operation, liver function is kept well, and relapse of pancytopenia and esophagogastric varices, and appearance of hepatocellular carcinoma are not seen yet.
