256 QAM (Polarization-multiplexed, 5 Gsymbol/s) coherent transmission with an injection-locked homodyne detection technique

We demonstrate an 80 Gbit/s-256 QAM coherent optical transmission with a fiber laser-based injection-locked homodyne detection circuit. The circuit enabled low phase-noise carrier-phase synchronization, and an 80-Gbit/s data signal was successfully transmitted over 150 km.
