Abstract
Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) has been measured at the U N 4,5 absorption edges of ferromagnetic uranium monochalcogenides US, USe and UTe. The MCD signals are weaker in US than in USe and UTe. Both the spin and orbital moments are increased in going from US to USe, and then reduced from USe to UTe.
