N2 - X-Ray analysis was carried of out of 4,4-dipheny1-1-(2,4,6-t-butylpheny1)-1-phospha-1,2,3-butatrience as ligand as a ligand of pentacarbonyl-tungsten complex. The heterocumelene system was found to be planer with a rod framework coordinating to the tungsten metal at the phosphorus atom in a σ-type coordination.
