Abstract
Wide-power range, low-distortion partially corrugated waveguide laser diodes (PC-LDs) have been developed for broadcast CATV system. This was accomplished by using low.capacitance DC-PBH structures and highly-strained high-quality MQW active layers. For the first time, a CSO level of less than -60 dBc and a CTB level of less than 70 dBc over a 10 to approximately 30 mW power range has been attained for an 80 channel CATV specification.
