Abstract

Photophysical and photocatalytic properties of Ba 5Nb 4O 15 with four-layered perovskite structure were investigated. The band gap of Ba 5Nb 4O 15 was 3.9 eV. A broad emission band of green photoluminescence was observed at 77 K. NiO/Ba 5Nb 4O 15 pretreated by H 2 reduction followed by O 2 oxidation showed a high activity for water splitting under UV light irradiation.
