Abstract

Vibrational effects on the shape resonance energy in the K-shell photoionization spectra of CO was investigated. O 1s single-hole ionization cross sections of CO were measured for v′=0-2. Measurements revealed new site-selective properties of the vibrational effect on the σ* shape resonance. Strong dependence of the shape resonance energy of the internuclear distance was found.
