Validation of drag estimation on wing-fuselage configurations for a Navier-Stokes solver

Abstract

An implicit multiblock Navier-Stokes solver, which utilizes the LU-SGS implicit method and the HLLEW scheme, has been developed for numerical simulations on complex and realistic aerodynamic configurations. One-level halo cells are used to communicate data between abutting blocks. The resulting method is applied to the NAL supersonic transport (SST) model, ONERA Model M5 configuration and DLR-F4 configuration to compare with experimental data.
