Abstract

A radical mechanism for the fast cis‐trans isomerization of 1 is suggested by results obtained with the parent compound. By H abstraction (e.g. from the solvent) it forms the (Me3Si)2CHC(SiMe3)2 radical, detectable by ESR spectroscopy. (Figure Presented.)
