Two reactions method for accurate analysis by irradiation with charged particles

Abstract

In the average stopping power method1) the formula error itself was negligible but systematic errors could be introduced by the stopping power data used in this formula. A method directly derived from the average stopping power method, but based on the use of two nuclear reactions, is described here. This method has a negligible formula error and does not require the use of any stopping power or range data: accurate and "self-consistent" analysis by irradiation with charged particles is then possible.
