Transverse mode control by a crossing pair of linearly pumped regions in a Yb: YAG ceramic thin disk

Abstract

We demonstrated that a pair of linearly pumped regions was created in a Yb:YAG ceramic thin disk. This enabled us to readily select Laguerre-Gaussian and Hermite-Gaussian beams of higher transverse mode without mechanical manipulation.
