Abstract

With its very high population density, the Tokyo metropolitan region suffers from congestion on both its railways and its roads. As travel speeds on the roads fall and load factors on commuter trains increase, what measures are being taken to improve conditions not only of congestion, but also safety and environmental pollution? -Author
