Abstract

Protective effects of selenium compounds and metallothionein inducing metals against side effects of certain antitumor drugs were observed in mice. Since these two methods using trace elements did not inhibit the antitumor activity of the drugs, selenium and metallothionein inducing metals may be useful tools in cancer chemotherapy.
