TiO2/SiO2 photonic crystals and application of their anisotropy

Abstract

Photonic crystals for the visible range were obtained by the autocloning technique. Utilizing their birefrigence, waveplates and polarization selective gratings were demonstrated. The resultant photonic crystals are expected to be widely used in optical components besides optical pick-ups.
