Three nucleon force study via dp breakup reactions at intermediate energies

Abstract

Recent results on three-nucleon scattering at intermediate energies (E/A ≈ 100 MeV) are presented. Differences between the experimental data and the Faddeev calculations with high precision nucleon-nucleon forces are identified. For the cross section data of elastic deuteron-proton scattering, the agreement is improved by incorporating 2π-exchange three nucleon forces. However the polarization observables are not always described by the three nucleon forces, indicating that components other than 2π-exchange three nucleon forces are required to describe the data.
