Abstract

Three-body He3 photodisintegration was measured in the photon energy range (E) of 145 425 MeV. The total cross section for photon absorption on the np pairs in He3, (3He(,np)psp), where psp is a spectator proton, is reported here for the first time. The E dependence of the is found to scale to that of (2H(,np)), and the ratio is determined to be (3He(,np)psp)/(2H(,np))=1.240.,26.
