Abstract
Third-order electric susceptibilitiesX3zzz(-3w,w,w,w)of the halogen-bridged mixed-valence Pt complexes, [Pt(en)2][Pt(en)2X2](C104)4, (X = C1, Br, I) are calculated using a three level model, taking account of the ground state and odd and even charge-transfer excitons. The values obtained are in the range of 10-12-10-8 esu and are comparable to, or slightly larger than those observed in polydiacetylenes
