Abstract
Phase equilibria in Fe-Cr-Mn-S quaternary system at 1 843 K were investigated experimentally. Two liquid phases: molten metal alloy phase and molten sulfide phase were in equilibrium in this system at 1 843 K. The equilibrium relations between molten metal alloy and sulfide phases were experimentally measured. By using metal/sulfide equilibrium method, activity of constituents in molten MnS-CrS-FeS sulfide phase were determined. By utilizing regular solution model, activity curves of constituents in sulfide phase were estimated.
