Abstract
The theory of the exciton dynamics in the disordered linear chains was reported. The one dimensional Frenkel exciton Hamiltonian with disorder was used to obtain the exciton wave functions. The absorption spectra, luminescence spectra and the time response of the luminescence intensity were obtained using numerical methods. The long range dipole-dipole interactions were found responsible for the luminescence depolarization.
