Abstract

As a model of the so-called secondary instability in a three-dimensional boundary layer, the inflectional instabilty of a boundary layer with artificially generated streamwise vortices is examined by using hot wire and flow visualization in order to clarify its response to the acoustic excitation as well as to the wind- tunnel residual noise.
