Abstract

The gene for the 32-kDa quinone-binding protein in the photosystem II complex has been cloned from rice (Oryza sativa L.) and the nucleotide sequence of the gene has been determined. The site of initiation of transcription has been examined by primer extension analysis and the size of the transcribed mRNA by northern blot analysis. The nucleotide sequence and the deduced amino acid sequence have been compared with those of the analogous gene and protein from other species.v.
