The Local Ordering of Molten LiNbO3 by X-ray Diffraction

The structure of molten LiNbO3 has been studied in the range 1550-1600 K by high temperature X-ray diffraction. Octahedrally coordinated niobium is suggested to exist in the melt as a fundamental local structure.
