Abstract
The influence of tumor volume in radiation therapy was investigated in 102 esophageal cancer patients. Lesions less than 50 cm3 in volume were associated with a better local control and survival. On the other hand, lesions more than 100 cm3 in volume were not associated with a lower local control nor survival. Smaller proportion of ulcerative or infiltrative tumors in patients with large tumor (= > 100 cm3) may be the background of this results.
