The effect of Y substitution by lanthanides on Jc of Ba2Y1Cu3O7-δ

The dependence of the critical current density on the substitution of Y by lanthanides was examined for Ba2Y1Cu3O7-δ. The results are discussed in terms of the grain boundary as well as the intra-grain properties. Ho and Er were the best elements to improve the critical current density.
