Abstract
Co/Cu multilayers using Pb as a surfactant were fabricated in a growth chamber by using molecular beam epitaxy. We investigated the differences in the interface structures and the magnetotransport properties between the surfactant-mediated multilayers and the normal ones. From the results of X-ray diffraction and magnetoresistance measurements, we concluded that the use of a small amount of Pb surfactant reduced the interface roughness and changed the magnetotransport properties.
