Abstract
We investigated the condition of the helical volume dynamic incremental CT for delineation of mediastinal vasculature. We performed the helical volume CT of 5 mm thickness cephalocaudally during administration of nonionic iodinated contrast media (CM) from antecubital veins. The CM of approximately 160 mgI/ml, the infusion rate of 2 ml/sec, and the delay time of 60 seconds gave excellent and homogenous contrast enhancement in any major mediastinal vasculature without severe artifacts. From those results, we believe that this condition of the helical volume dynamic incremental CT imaging is useful for delineation of mediastinal vasculature.
