Abstract

The complete cDNA sequence encoding Mg2+-dependent protein phosphatase (MPP) α from mouse brain was cloned. It encodes a protein of 382 amino acids with a calculated Mr of 42432. The putative sites of phosphorylation by casein kinase II, found originally in rat MPPα, are conserved in the mouse ortholog.
