Abstract

The π- mesonic decay rates of 12ΛC and 28ΛSi hypernuclei were experimentally obtained by measuring their branching ratios and lifetimes with (π++) reaction, and an upper limit on ΛFe was evaluated. The present results are in favor of the theoretical calculations based on the pion wave function distorted by the realistic pion nucleus optical potential, comparing those calculated by only Coulomb potential.
