Abstract
Two types of mean-field equations, the first type for colloidal suspensions of hard spheres and the second type for atomic systems of hard spheres were addressed. These equations were validated via a Brownian-dynamics (BD) simulation on the suspensions and a molecular-dynamics (MD) simulation on the atomic systems. Results indicate that both equations could be useful tools to describe the dynamical behavior of hard spheres near the glass transition.
