Temperature dependence of YbHe continuum emission spectra

Abstract

We have observed laser-excited continuum emission spectra in the far wings of the 6s2 1S06s6p 1P1 resonance line of Yb broadened by He at seven different temperatures (405560°C). We find that the YbHe molecular excited state 6s6p 1 is repulsive.
