Abstract

This paper presents highly reliable and compact TDMA equipment which is developed for the DYANET (Dynamic Channel Assigning and Routing Satellite Aided Digital Networks) system. LSIC- and MIC-implementation has been carried out for the major units of TDMA equipment; synchronization, modem and terrestrial interface. The major functions of a synchronization unit are implemented with six different kinds of LSICs, a burst modem is implemented with four kinds of MICs, four kinds of HICs and three kinds of LSICs, and a terrestrial interface module is also implemented with an LSIC. This implementation makes it possible to reduce hardware size of TDMA equipment to 1/5 of conventional one. Moreover, a simplified transponder hopping system in which only single TDMA equipment is required, has been developed by an inventive phase-compensated carrier filter and a novel TDMA frame.
