Abstract
In this study, vanadium modified ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using the co-precipitation method. The amount of vanadium content was varied from 5, 8, and 16 atomic percentages (at.%). The structural properties of the prepared samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that all the prepared samples had a hexagonal wurtzite structure from ZnO nanoparticles. The grain size and lattice strain were calculated using Williamson-Hall plots with a uniform deformation model approach. The elemental analysis characterized using energy dispersive X-ray measurement indicated that the total vanadium concentrations of the samples were about 5, 8, and 16 at.%. In addition, the UV-Vis reflectance analyses show that the reflectance spectra of vanadium doped ZnO decreased in visible light region with increased vanadium content.
