Synthesis of S and N Co-doped TiO2 film by AC-PLD method and its photo properties

Abstract

For the application of TiO2 film to visible light active photocatalyst by anion doping, synthesis of S and N co-doped TiO2 films was conducted by atmosphere controlled pulsed laser deposition (AC-PLD) method. In this method, anion doped TiO2 film was formed on quartz substrate by the irradiation of pulsed Nd.YAG laser light on TiO2 target in the presence of CS2 and CH3CN. Both S and N were found to be doped homogenously in the obtained TiO2 film. The co-doped film was visible light active and its absorption property was sensitive to the partial pressure of the gaseous reagents during the ablation. Furthermore, the co-doped film showed better catalytic performance than either sulfur or nitrogen doped TiO2 film.
