Synthesis of oligosaccharide-contained thermosensitive polymer

Abstract

We have previously reported the construction of oligosaccharides having a polymerizable group at the reducing end by using chitinaseA1 (Bacillus circulons WL-12) as a catalyst. Here, we have demonstrated the synthesis of sugar-grafted thermosensitive polymer by using N-isopropylacrylamide and compound 1 or 2. The polymers show remarkable dissolution-agglutination changes in aqueous media by response of temperature changes.
