Synthesis of an azadioxa-planar triphenylborane and investigation of its structural and photophysical properties

Abstract

We report here the first successful synthesis of planar triphenylborane 1 with the phenyl groups bridged by oxygen and nitrogen atomsviadouble nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction. The hetero atom-bridged 1 has excellent planarity. Its structural and photophysical properties are tunable by altering the bridging atoms.
