Synthesis and structure of a base-stabilized silyl(silylene)tantalum complex

Abstract

Thermal reaction of Cp2Ta(η2-C3H 6) with HSiMe2SiMe2-OMe in toluene at 60°C gave Cp2Ta{SiMe2⋯O(Me)⋯SiMe2} (7%) and Cp2TaH(SiMe2SiMe2OMe)2 (8%). The former methoxy-stabilized silyl(silylene) complex was characterized by X-ray diffraction study.
