Abstract
Titania pillared H2Ti4O9 has been synthesized by the reaction of H2Ti4O9 with a titanyl acylate complex followed by UV irradiation. The incorporation of TiO2 was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and N2 adsorption measurement. The photocatalytic activity of the titania pillared H2Ti4O9 prepared using the titanyl acylate precursor was twice larger than that fabricated using a titania sol solution and H2Ti4O9.
