Abstract

Neutral bis(tetrathiafulvalenyldithiolato) cobalt complexes (1a - 1c) have been synthesized, whose room-temperature electrical conductivities (σrt's) are 10-4 - 10-10 S·cm-1. The SQUID measurement showed that the cobalt atom is in the state of Co(II) (S = 1/2 ). Addition of an equimolar amount of tetramethylthio-substituted TTF (4) to 1a brought about marked increase by ca. 107 in the σrt value.
