Synthesis and characterization of superconducting NbC nanotubes

    Abstract

    The synthesis of superconducting niobium carbide (NbC) nanotubes was analyzed. It was found that carbon nanotubes were also used as templates to fabricate other one-dimensional nanomaterials. The length of NbC nanotubes was found to be ranges from hundreds of nanometers to several micrometers with diameters of 20-60 nm. The results show a strong photoluminescence peak at 346 nm and a superconducting transition temperature of 11.2 K for the NbC nanotubes.
