Abstract
We have previously reported the construction of oligosaccharides having a polymerizable group at the reducing end by using chitinaseA1 (Bacillus circulons WL-12) as a catalyst, and demonstrated the synthesis of sugar-grafted thermosensitive polymer by using TV-isopropylacrylamide and compound 1. In this study we characterized the resulting polymers. The polymers show remarkable dissolution-agglutination changes in aqueous media by response of temperature changes. The polymerizations by using other monomers are under investigation and the results will be discussed.
