Abstract
Symmetry-resolved excitation spectra have been measured for the Renner-Teller pair states [Formula presented] and [Formula presented] split from the core-excited C [Formula presented] state in [Formula presented]. A vibrational progression with the spacings of [Formula presented] is found in both the [Formula presented] and [Formula presented] spectra at different energies and assigned to the symmetric stretching mode caused in the [Formula presented] linear state, with the help of ab initio calculations. Appearance of the vibrations in the [Formula presented] spectrum is interpreted as due to nonadiabatic coupling between the [Formula presented] and [Formula presented] states via the bending motion.
