Abstract
Survey of chloride ingress into concrete structures damaged by the Tsunami by the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake was carried out. In case of RC buildings, degree of chloride ingress was strongly affected by presence of cracks. As results of chipping survey of cover concrete, rebar corrosion was observed around cracks. In case of concrete basements of detached houses, remaining of tsunami sediment in long period (e.g. 6 months or more) might lead higher level chloride ingress.
