171Yb NMR studies of charge ordering in Yb4As 3

Abstract

Charge ordering of Yb ions in the quantum spin chain system Yb 4As3 has been investigated by 171Yb NMR. Clear evidence for the existence of 4f holes on Yb2+ sites has been obtained from the non-monotonic T-dependence of the resonance shift K(T).
