12CO(J=1-0) emission from circumnuclear regions of normal S0 galaxies

We present results of 12CO(J=1-0) emission-line measurements of 10 optically selected normal S0 galaxies which show little or no optical emission lines in their nuclear regions. The observations include the central 1 kpc diameter. We detected CO emission from six galaxies out of ten. The CO emission was newly detected from one galaxy NGC 7457. The molecular gas mass of the central 1 kpc region of the CO-detected S0 galaxies ranges from 107 to 108. script M sign. The average surface density of molecular gas is 106-7. script M sign kpc-2. Comparing our results with those in literature, we discuss the spatial distribution of the molecular gas and the relationship between the molecular gas content and nuclear activity.
