Summer survey and analysis on indoor thermal environment of urban residential buildings in Changsha

Abstract

The objects and contents of the questionnaire survey, methods and instruments of the measurement of indoor thermal environment in urban residential buildings, which was held in August 2002 in Changsha city of China, are presented. The questionnaire survey reveals summer life style in urban residences, and the occupant's subjective prediction of indoor thermal environment as well. Indoor thermal environment of the houses of different height, location, and style are compared and analyzed. In addition, some advice on how to improve indoor thermal environment, taking the influence of indoor facilities, outdoor environment and occupant's life style of into account, is put forward.
