Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to obtain sulfur distribution ratios between slags with the compositions Na//2O/SiO//2 equals 1/3 EN DASH 3/2 (molar ratio) and carbon-saturated iron at 1250 and 1350 degree C and to compare these values with preiously reported sulfide capacities. Desulfurization by the gaseous sodium produced by the reaction of NaCl with CaC//2 was observed in carbon-saturated iron, but the dephosphorization reaction did not take place.
