Study on twisted structure of hydrogen bonded molecular aggregate

Abstract

Twisted structure of hydrogen-bonded molecular aggregate formed from achiral azopyridine carboxylic acid (EtO-10) was studied by comparison with the crystal structure. The structural analysis was led to a conclusion that the dipole moment derived from the side-chain ethoxy group would be cancelled by twisting plain-ribbon molecular aggregate in either right-handed or left-handed direction.
